In this paper both the Heinz genome and the genome of a wild relative S. pimpinellifolium are described. This has been a major coordinated international effort – as is reflected in the >300 authors from 14 countries! The quality of the assembly covering more than 35,000 genes is considered to be one of the best ever published. Well done everyone who has been involved.
