Setting up jMoby with Eclipse
This section will describe in detail what to do and how to set up Eclipse for working with BioMoby.
The different sections will be presented as flash movies embedded in a html file. By clicking on the links below a new page will open with the corresponding movie. You can stop and rewind the movie at any point you like with a timebar which you can find under the movie. The movies will go through the tutorial like a hands-on-session and you can directly see how to set what in which way. The movies have been made on Windows, but its (almost) exactly the same if you work on any other operating system (although the look and feel will be different)
We also provide on the pages the tutorial in text, in case you can not start the movie or just prefer to read it. These texts give only a short text version of the presentations in the movies, but either cover the whole tutorial.
As mentioned above this section will describe what you have to do in Eclipse to be able to work with BioMoby. It assumes that you already followed the Prerequisites, and have at least successfully installed Eclipse. For additional information feel free to have a look in the documenation of BioMoby after you checked out the code from the CVS. It will tell you also information about the integration into Eclipse.
Now lets see what we need to do:
- First of all start Eclipse
- At the beginning we need to download the BioMoby Java code from the CVS and integrate it into Eclipse:
- As movie: Flash Movie (975 Kb)
- As text: text version
- After we have the JMoby project in Eclipse we need to "install" it via Ant:
- As movie: Flash Movie (1.1 MB)
- As text: text version
- The last step is now the complete setup up of Eclipse to be moby-ready:
- As movie: Flash Movie (870 KB)
- As text: text version
Congratulations - now you have set up Eclipse correctly and you have successfully integrated BioMoby.
Now you are ready to start working and developing BioMoby WebServices (here)
