About us
Work and experience of MIPS cover a wide spectrum of database related topics as well as contributions in the field of plant genome analysis. The group is involved triggered in numerous international plant genome sequencing and analysis consortia. A data rich environment, an advanced data base infrastructure, IT expertise and exhaustive expertise in bioinformatic analysis of plant genomes is available at MIPS and feeds into the efforts undertaken in the frame of EU-SOL.
Natural History Museum and EU-SOL
Responsibility of MIPS in the frame of EU-SOL circumvent core genome database functionality, synchronization with SGN BAC registry, web interface to genome database and the coordinate integration of core database with gene structures and prediction.
MIPS has over the past years acquired a lot of experience in hosting complex database for several genome projects and developed protocols for data exchange. Therefore MIPS’ primary role is to build a dedicated database that will function as the primary window to the whole EU-SOL project. To this end they will share their knowledge on exchange formats with other partners within the WP. The latter will be essential for the incorporation of functional annotation that several partners in this WP will generate.
