FR: INRA-SaAB

Full name: Public Institute for Research in Agriculture - Statistics and Algorithms for Biology team

Location: Toulouse, France

About Us

INRA is a French Public Institute for Research in Agriculture. The Toulouse campus is a large campus with a variety of labs and teams. The “Statistics and Algorithms for Biology” team belong to the “Biometry and Artificial Intelligence” lab, which hosts mathematicians and computer scientists working on problems defined by modeling genetics, genomics, biodiversity, environmental and agronomical problems.

The SaAB team itself is mostly interested in the in silico identification of functional elements in genomes at the genetic marker level (genetic mapping, RH mapping, QTL identification), at the genomic sequence level (protein and RNA gene identification) but also maintains an activity in statistics and algorithmics for itself. It maintains strong collaborations with biological partners. For the EU-SOL project, this is mostly the bioinformatics team of the LIPM lab which is focused on legumes and their interactions with bacterias.

INRA-SaAB and Eu-Sol

The Toulouse INRA team is providing support for the annotation of the tomato genomic sequences produced inside the project and at the international level. The EU-SOL final integrated annotation is performed using our homemade integrative gene finder EuGene which integrates all the information provided by the partners from the EU-SOL project and beyond at the international level inside the iTAG group.

Staff (working on EU-SOL)
