About Us
The Agricultural Biotechnology Center (ABC) is a non-profit research institute founded in 1989 based upon the realisation that biotechnology and its application are the key factors in the future competitiveness of the Hungarian agriculture. The institute is supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and is dominated by molecular and cellular approaches of plant and animal development and breeding.
Agricultural Biotechnology Centre and Eu-Sol
ABC is involved in profiling of compounds important for health. We are responsible for providing data on vitamin B5, B6 and C content of potato tubers. We characterise different cultivars and genotypes and contribute to identification of molecular markers that can facilitate breeding for potato varieties with improved vitamin content.
