About Us
Agrotechnology & Food Sciences Group (AFSG) is part of Wageningen UR (WUR) and develops knowledge and transfers knowledge in the field of sustainable applications for safe food and non-food products.
The food preferences of consumers change continuously. Innovation is therefore an absolute necessity for the food industry. Product and process developments are crucial; these allow the food industry to maintain or expand markets, or to operate more competitively. Added value, quality, energy and the environment are among the most important aspects of this process.
AFSG and Eu-Sol
AFSG is devoted to the analysis of the biological bases of sensory quality traits perceived by consumers. This can be achieved by obtaining a better understanding of the preferences of European consumers in the Netherlands, France and Italy. The outcomes will provide the base for a suitable improvement of the fruit quality and for the diversification of this product. All of this is detailed in Work Package 1.1.
